Once upon a time... Living with a comet

#livingwithacomet

Great news! Another Rosetta cartoon has been released. In this episode Rosetta tells us what she's learned in her first year studying Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, and Philae wakes up from hibernation.

It’s been a busy year for our friends Rosetta and Philae. The landing didn’t go exactly as planned but Philae managed to make his first measurements of the comet’s surface before his battery ran out and he fell into a long deep sleep. Rosetta continued studying the comet learning new and wonderful things.

As the comet got closer to the Sun, Rosetta saw its activity increase. She collected samples of the gas and dust that streamed into space in order to learn more about what the comet was made of and where it was born.

Where did Earth’s water come from? Could it have come from comets and asteroids billions of years ago? Find out what Rosetta and Philae found in our new clip!
